A COLONIAL PERIOD TASMANIAN SOLID HUON PINE CHEST OF DRAWERS
1840s

Rectangular, the inverted break-front top above an arrangement of five short drawers and three long drawers between turned columns, on turned feet, the top, drawer fronts, and sides all in sold Huon pine (the top with a cedar substrate), all with clusters of burr figuring, the drawer linings and the backboards of Australian cedar, the drawers retaining apparently original pulls and Bramah type locks
