Depicting one of the four guardian kings (shitenno), wearing ancient armour, his left arm raised.
The Shitenno are Buddhist protectors of the four directions. In Japan they are often shown as matial figures wearing Chiense armour warding off evil and protecting the world from malicious spirits.

Overall in good condition, general wear, missing weapon in his left hand, traces of original pigments, some old worm holes and minor restorations on the reverse, which are all consistent with age and use. It had been treated and monitored for worms.
