AN ANTIQUE CUBE CASE BY LOUIS VUITTON
Early 20th century, serial number 128233

The exterior in Vuitton monogram canvas protected with nailed leather to all edges and with a branded leather carrying handle to the top (detached but present), the front with Louis Vuitton patent lock, the lockplate engraved with Vuitton's London and Paris addresses (149 New Bond Street and 1 rue Scribe) and number 011351, the fabric-lined interior with Vuitton's gilt-lettered red leather label with addresses as above and serial number, the top with traces of the painted initials of a former owner
35cm high, 44cm wide, 40cm deep

Structurally sound and in reasonably good condition consistent with age and use.

The leather handle to the top is detached (both of its leather mounts being broken) but present.

To the exterior, the leather edges are worn and scuffed throughout to varying degrees and there are a few spattered fine paint droplets to the top and localized dirt elsewhere but the surfaces are generally well preserved.

The fabric-lined interior shows some wear and is a little dirty, mostly to its base.

No key is present for the lock.
