Based in Paris, Maison Jansen was in operation from 1880-1989 and was considered the first truly global design firm serving clients in Europe, North America, Latin America and the Middle East. In the 1920s under the leadership of Stephane Boudin, the firm became one of the world's preeminent decorating companies, creating interiors for royalty and nobility; notably Lady Baillie's suite in Leeds Castle, the Amalianborg Dining Room for Chips Channon's London house, and later, redecorating The White House for President and Mrs John F. Kennedy.
