A GEORGE IV GILT-FRAMED GIRANDOLE MIRROR
1820s

The convex circular plate within an ebonised slip and moulded frame surmounted with a crest of a spread eagle with chain swags and pendants descending from its beak, a foliate tail-piece below and a metal candle branch to each side
Note: The appearance of the plate in the catalogue photograph has been modified; it does not represent the actual appearance of the plate.
100cm high, 68cm wide, 20cm deep

Estimate $1,200 - $2,000

Sold for $2,200

Generally in good condition consistent with age, with typical minor wear. There is fine shrinkage cracking to the gilt gesso surfaces throughout with occasional slight superficial losses to this, and the ebonising to the slip is a little crazed and discoloured.

The plate, the silvering of which shows only a few slight blemishes, may be an old replacement. (The appearance of the plate in the catalogue photograph has been modified; it does not represent the actual appearance of the plate.)
