62 x 42.5cm
Estimate $800 - $1,200
Collection of Qi Jilan (Nancy Lee), thence by descent.
Qi Jilan, also known as Nancy Lee, was the daughter of Dr. Sheo-nan Cheer (Qi Shounan) and Dr. Tao Zhongchen. A notable testament to the family's distinguished cultural heritage is an inscribed Western Han dynasty ink rubbing presented by Duanfang (1861-1911) to his niece Tao Zhongchen in 1909. The rubbing was subsequently preserved within the family and was later donated by Nancy Lee to the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
