In good original condition: first chair with repair & reinforcments to underside of seat, some cracks to top of legs, small chips to angles of front legs; second chair with similar reinforcements and currently very loose between back and seat, longer cracks in back legs, one repaired, small chip to front corner of seat.

These unusual hall chairs were part of a set ordered by Thomas Clifton (1788-1851) for his house, Lytham Hall in Lancashire, in September 1832.
