Lot 140
Gilded wrought metal frames with faceted crystal drops. Founded by Noël Baguès as specialists in liturgical bronzes, the company expanded into bronze light fixtures by 1880 with the rise of electrical lighting. The company gained international acclaim in the interwar period, with handcrafted pieces like crystal chandeliers appealing to elite clients. Baguès' bespoke metalwork attracted commissions from top designers such as Maison Jansen and Raymond Subes, with their work featured in iconic spaces like Jeanne Lanvin's home and luxury hotels, including the George V and the Savoy. Today, Maison Baguès continues to preserve its heritage through restoration, maintaining its status as a leader in classic French lighting and metalwork.
