"Ivan Shepherd was born near Lapaku between the Rawlinson Ranges and Lake Christopher in the Ngaanyatjarra Lands, Western Australia. He is a senior man and lives in Warakurna with his family. Ivan's painting depicts his father's story of Tingari men travelling through country meeting other Tingari men for business and Warrmalla (Feather-foot men). The Tingari men travelled from Lapaku to the Warakurna side of Jameson camping at a place called Nganturn meeting another mob of Tingari men. All the young and old men camped together for business the other side of Lapaku. The feather-foot men from past Lapaku came and killed the Tlngari men."
