Second half 18th century
The coffee cup and saucer in the style of Meissen's Zwiebelmuster, the cup with a scroll handle, painted in under-glaze blue with touches of red, blue and green with birds and sprays of foliage, over gilded, encompassed by gold lines and a band of gilding around the rim. Under-glaze blue ‘bee hive' factory mark on both pieces. ‘6' on cup and ‘14' on saucer. Impressed bee hive on saucer, circa 1750 - 1760.
