Adrian Salvatore's character-packed drawings pay homage to events, activities and personalities that bring a community together, and in Australia sport has an enormous part to play in such occasions. In his works on paper Salvatore achieves a dense, detailed and highly resolved aesthetic, and Lou Richards Collingwood legend 1923 – 2017 exemplifies Salvatore's practice in this medium. The piece features the iconic Richards in various poses at varying stages of his life – a tribute to the colourful character. Adrian Salvatore has been attending the Arts Project Australia studio since 2011.
