Eden and the Gorge emerged through invitation by contemporary artist and academic Catherine Bell as part of a project to pair female Arts Project Australia artists and external contemporary female artists together. The work speaks to the politics of difference and the intimacy, depth and strength of collaborative relationships. Eden Menta has worked at Arts Project since 2013. She has exhibited widely and her work is held in private collections throughout Australia. Janelle Low has exhibited nationally and internationally and her works are held in public and private collections. In 2013 she became the second female and youngest winner of the National Photographic Portrait Prize presented by the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra, and in 2017 was selected as a finalist in the prestigious William and Winifred Bowness Photography Prize. FEM-aFFINITY is touring nationally through to 2021 and is presently in hibernation at Benalla Art Gallery.
